How could it happen that a drink for poor, eventually, became one of the noblest alcoholic drinks with a rich bouquet of exquisite flavor? One of the participants of this mysterious story is Revel Chion company. It all started with its founder, Battista Revel Chion. It was 1850, when mayor of province of Ivrea made a list of producers and granted Battista with the 53rd place among the qualified distilleries.
But, let us go back to transformations of grappa. It was made from grape cake for poor people in a place named Bassano del Grappa. Eventually, grappa production technology improved and got more complicated, and a drink acquired more exquisite flavor.
Taking into account that a history of Revel Company extends back for seven generations of Chions, it is fair to say that they were directly involved in a process of turning grappa from a low grade home-brew to an elegant drink.
Today, Revel Chion Company produces high class grappa, liquors from local noble grapes variety- Nebbiolo and Erbaluce, as well as, chocolate specialties laced with grappa and coffee.
